Updated: This post has been updated with the results from Tuesday’s game between San Antonio and Houston.

The must bring their A-game Tuesday against Dallas for a 3:30 p.m. game, in order to remain in ninth place after the San Antonio Spurs defeated Houston, 123-105 in an earlier game.

Two other games important to the race for the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference tip off before the Blazers and Mavericks:

1:30 p.m.: Phoenix (32-39) vs. Philadelphia (42-28)2 p.m.: Memphis (33-38) vs. Boston (47-23)

Ninth-place Portland trails eighth-place Memphis by a half-game. The Blazers still lead both the Suns and the Spurs (32-38) by winning percentage.

There are , but the most important factor for Portland (33-39) is to continue winning.

Should the Blazers lose Tuesday, they would fall behind at least the Spurs, who have already won. In that scenario, Portland would then need to defeat Brooklyn on Thursday, have San Antonio lose to Utah and see Phoenix lose at least once to close the season in order to remain in ninth. Or, at least one of those scenarios involving the Suns and Spurs would have play out along with Memphis losing twice.

Check back during the day for updated scenarios as final scores roll in.
