Gus Malzahn will be on the sidelines once again in 2021 and he will now be wearing black and gold.
The former Auburn head coach has accepted the same role at UCF. People on Twitter reacted to the news mostly by wishing Malzahn the best while also wondering about his coaching staff.
Will be interesting to see if Gus tries to poach Rodney Garner or Travis Williams to be his new DC at UCF.
Both of them just found new jobs after being part of his Auburn staff.

Really wanted this to be the method by which UCF announced the Gus Malzahn hire

Crush it, Gus

Well… this is going to be awkward.

Gus Malzahn is the only man who was head coach at a Power 5 school in 2020 who will be head coach at another FBS school in 2021.
All the others who were fired/resigned are assistants/analysts or currently out of coaching.

I’m really happy for Gus Malzahn and his family. I think this is a great landing spot. Plus they can get season passes to Disney and Universal now and have the time of their lives! 🎢🎠

I believe Gus is gonna kill it at UCF. An already established G5 powerhouse. He is going to poach a few higher profile recruits from Florida over the next couple of years and get that thing rolling. His pedigree can’t be touched by peers at the G5 level, hell at Power 5 too.

Love to see it 🙏🏾

All these years of slandering UCF only to now wish them well is something.
Sports, tearing me apart emotionally:

Kudos to UCF. It's silly to take away from the hire because UCF beat Auburn and Gus in a Bowl game. Bigger picture, this is a perfect fit and great “get” for a premiere Group-5 program.

I am giddily confident that Gus Malzahn will be on the Auburn short list every time that job opens for the next 20 years.

the clues were in front of us the whole time

Malzahn to UCF is official. This is a good, solid hire and I wish him the best of luck.

Now that you’re out of Auburn, what will you do next?

Orlando is the new home for former Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn.
On Monday, UCF officially announced the hiring of Malzahn as its new head football coach with a familiar phrase: Boom!
“I’m thrilled to be the head coach at UCF, and I’m truly looking forward to being part of Knight Nation,” Malzahn said in a statement. “It’s exciting to be head of a program where the future is extremely bright. I will be hitting the ground running in terms of getting to know our team and everyone else connected with UCF. Our goal is to be ready to win championships.”

Gus Malzahn wasn’t unemployed for very long.
Per Yahoo Sports, the former Auburn head coach is set to be hired to the same position at UCF.
Malzahn would be replacing Josh Heupel who took the Tennessee job after the Volunteers fired Jeremy Pruitt.
The 55-year-old Malzahn was fired after eight seasons at Auburn in which he won a SEC Championship, took the Tigers to another SEC title game and, in his first season, led the team to the BCS National Championship Game. He is owed a buyout of more than $20 million.
His overall record was 68-35 and 39-27 in conference play.

Being named an All-American is a honor bestowed on the select few players who had such a productive and successful season that they stood out above everyone else.
Luckily for Auburn fans, 19 Tigers have had a year like that since the start of this century with one player — Marcus McNeill — earning the honor twice. From Karlos Dansby to Cam Newton to Derrick Brown, these former Auburn stars have been seen as the best of the best.
Here are the 19 Tigers to earn All-American honors since 2000.
