Marco Troper, Son of Former YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, Found Dead at UC Berkeley. The death was confirmed by the teen’s grandmother in a Facebook post the day after he was found in his dorm room.
A young man, identified by his family as Marco Troper, 19, was found unresponsive in his dorm room at the University of California, Berkeley on Tuesday afternoon. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Our family is devastated beyond comprehension,” said Esther Wojcicki, Marco’s grandmother, in a heartfelt Facebook post. She described him as “the most kind, loving, smart, fun and beautiful human being.”
The incident occurred at the Clark Kerr Campus student housing complex around 4:23 PM local time. University officials confirmed there were no signs of foul play, and an investigation into the cause of death is ongoing.
According to his grandmother, Marco was a second-semester freshman majoring in math. He was “just getting started” at UC Berkeley and was “truly loving it,” she said. He also had a close-knit community of friends, both from his dorm and fraternity.
